Fox Business Calls The Muppets Communist

No I’m not trying to be edgy or anything, they did make this connection:

We’re teaching our kids class warfare. Where are we, Communist China?

You might not have noticed it but I especially like the touch they added with the banner saying “are liberals trying to brainwash your kids against capitalism?”. I just can’t make this kind stuff up, and it would be comical if it wasn’t something they actually meant.

But the segment really gets interesting when Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center joins in and blames the film, and its predecessors, for Occupy Wall Street and the environmental movement.

This is what they’re teaching our kids. You wonder why we’ve got a bunch of Occupy Wall Street people walking around all around the country, they’ve been indoctrinated, literally, for years by this kind of stuff, whether it was ‘Captain Planet’ or Nickelodeon’s ‘Big Green Help,’ or ‘The Day After Tomorrow,’ the Al Gore-influenced movie, all of that is what they’re teaching, is that corporations is bad, the oil industry is bad, and ultimately what they’re telling kids is what they told you in the movie ‘The Matrix’: that mankind is a virus on poor old mother Earth.

So environmental awareness is a bad thing, why? The environment is kinda important for us to live healthy and productive lives. So teaching kids to take care of it and appreciate it isn’t exactly a bad thing. And the environment isn’t even a big point in the movie, they just needed a villain for the story line.

Also this isn’t exactly the first time Fox goes after a movie or cartoon. Fox & friends had quite its own muppet show about the SpongeBob SquarePants short The Endless Summer. Which was also something that was really weird to watch, especially with how serious they are about a simple SpongeBob short that wasn’t even part of the regular show.

So how to answer this kind of silliness? I think the best response you can give them is satire:
